Turn On Microsoft Edge browser Tab Previews
The feature is not enabled by default. To turn it ‘On’ you’ll have to make changes to an experimental flag in the browser. The method described below is for the new Edge Chromium. Also, please note that these are experimental flags. As such, they can either be integrated into the browser or completely done away with.
1] Go to Tab Hover cards entry in the experimental flag
Launch Edge browser, open a new tab and copy-paste the following in the address bar – edge://flags/#tab-hover-cards. Next, hit ‘Enter‘ key.
2] Switch position from default to Enabled
The highlighted flag will appear below the ‘Search flags‘ bar.
Now, simply go to the drop-down menu of the entry and change the value from ‘Default‘ to ‘Enabled‘. Before closing the experimental flag, hit the ‘Restart‘ button to allow the changes to take effect.
Following this change, when you open the browser again and hover over the tabs, you’ll get a preview of the page’s content. It will bear the site’s name, alongside a brief description of the site. At any point in time, if you feel to disable this feature, simply go back to the flag and set the value to ‘Disabled‘. Make sure to restart the browser to effect the changes made. Since the new Edge is built with Chromium, enabling features on Microsoft Edge is similar to the process, seen in Google Chrome.
Enable or Disable Tab Preview feature in Chrome
The procedure to Enable or Disable Tab Preview in Google Chrome is as follows: Launch Chrome browser, type the following in the address bar and hit Enter: From the drop-down menu, select:
Select Enabled to enable the featureSelect Disabled to disable this feature.
