Fixing this problem is easier than you think, but it still requires some effort on your part. The information below will help a great deal so keep reading.

1] Refresh Discord text-to-speech

We believe the best way to solve the text-to-speech problem on Discord is to refresh the feature. Let us look at how to get this done in a timely manner, shall we?

Open the Discord app

To begin, you must first launch Discord on your Windows computer. You can do this by double-clicking on the icon located on your desktop, or the one found on the Taskbar if you’ve placed it there. Alternatively, you could look to the Start Menu for the Discord icon.

Once the Discord app is up and running, it’s now time to open the Settings area. Do this by clicking on the gear icon at the lower-left corner of the app.

Go to the Accessibility settings

From the now opened Settings section, please look to the left panel for Accessibility. It should be located under App Settings, so you shouldn’t be able to miss it.

Disable text-to-speech

In order to disable the text-to-speech function, you must now locate the Text-to-Speech option, and from there, click on the toggle button next to Allow playback and usage of /tts command to disable it.

Log out and log back in

Go ahead and log out of Discord, then log in again. This should fully ensure TTS is off.

Turn on text-to-speech

Return to the same Accessibility section and turn off text-to-speech by toggling Allow playback and usage of /tts command, and that’s it. All your problems should now be fixed, so go on ahead and check if things are working as they should.

2] Edit text-to-speech notification settings

If everything above fails to work accordingly, then your best bet, then, is to tweak the text-to-speech notification settings. This is a simple task to get done, so follow closely.

Go back to the Settings section of Discord

If you haven’t opened Discord yet, please do, then from the lower-left corner, go ahead and select the gear icon.

OK, so under the App Settings area on the left panel, you must click on Notifications. You will see a bunch of options here, but not all are important at this time.

Choose the For all channels option

Scroll down and be sure to click the circle next to For all channels. You should find this under Text-to-Speech Notifications. Restart the Discord app and check if things are working as they should.
